Association talks to school 5th and U-6th Form-ers

Sunday, 14 Nov 2010

Representatives of the GBSAA Commitee visited the School on Friday, 12 November 2010 to give a talk to the 400-odd Fifth and Upper Sixth Form-ers who were assembled at the assembly hall.

The purpose of the visit was to promote awareness of the Association to the pupils before they leave the School.

A show of hands quickly established that nearly all the pupils present had accessed the internet at some point or other, and had email accounts.

The Commitee presented a walk-through of our Website, and encouraged the pupils to visit and register themselves on the website.  The pupils were also encouraged to talk to their parents and friends about the Website whether or not their parents were ex-GBSers.

The talk ended with the Commitee wishing the pupils luck in their forthcoming exams.

At the end of the one-hour presentation, a number of pupils stayed back to talk to the Committee representatives about future careers, live overseas and such like.

The Committee wishes to thank the Head Mistress, Puan Umaizahrah bte Alwi and Puan Ee for agreeing to, and organising this event.

This was the first ever visit to the School by the Association. We hope that more will be forthcoming.

We hope that the pupils found the visit useful, and will contribute back to our School in the future.
