A Message From the GBS Alumni Association President - Silver Jubilee Dinner, 8 October 2010

GBS Alumni Association Silver Jubilee Dinner

7 November 2010

The above dinner held on 8th. October 2010 at the Tropicana Golf and Country Club was a resounding success.  So said many of the alumni who attended this dinner.  About 180 alumni, family members and friends who came,  had a jolly good time, rekindling old friendships or just savouring the pleasure of meeting old friends and for some,  making new ones.

It is our fervent hope that this website will witness more interactions between members, attract new members and associate members and enable all concerned to keep directly in touch with each other,  apart from exchanging views and news and posting relevant information that can be of benefit to members.

The relatively small number who attended this dinner generated an atmosphere of closeness and warmth that may not have been possible if the number had been large.  This was an unforeseen and unplanned blessing.  Surely God works in mysterious ways.

The Association utilised the occasion to launch its new interactive website.  It is our fervent hope that this website will witness more interactions between members, attract new members and associate members and enable all concerned to keep directly in touch with each other,  apart from exchanging views and news and posting relevant information that can be of benefit to members.  Lim Tau Poon,  ably assisted by Nicholas Wang and Tan Eng Chye had made this launch possible.  The more important task now is to ensure that this website stays alive, ticking and improving.

The Association members wish to record our appreciation for our past HM En. Tan Boon Lin and Puan Tan for gracing the occasion and to our past president and Life Advisor, Tan Sri Rahim Noor and Puan Sri for joining us on this historic night.  Our sincere thanks to Tan Sri Hadenan Jalil, our Vice-President who was unable to attend but had made a substancial contribution to help make the occasion a success.  To all who had contributed in cash and kind we extend our heartfelt appreciation.  Special thanks to Frank Low whose sheer dynamism made the night alive and vibrant.  Indeed thank you to one and all.  You have made it possible for this night to be so enjoyable and so meaningful.

Hamzah Sidang Mohamad,

President GBS Alumni Association
